When Brigitte showed me a photo of her wedding dress, she said it made her feel like she was a woodland forest fairy; I couldn't get past that idea when they asked me to capture their outdoor wedding in Breckenridge, Colorado. Let me introduce you to two newlyweds with the last name Godfrey. I love photographing weddings and sometimes I get lucky enough to photograph my close friends tying the knot. I knew this particular bride and groom through several mutual friends. This means I knew just about everyone attending the wedding and it was awesome! From the moment I met them both I was touched by their warm personalities and welcoming hearts. Tim and Brigitte's story began when Brigitte moved to Colorado and met Tim, all within the first week of arriving in Breckenridge. They met over coffee discussed starting up "All Access" a group that gets together to pursue spiritual growth, studying the Bible as a community. This connection laid the foundation of their friendship. Little did they know that it would eventually lead them to this special day.
Tim proposed to Brigitte by coordinating with her boss and as a surprise they gave her the day off from work. Tim invited her out on a scavenger hunt and she knew something was up. He surprised her once again by flying in her very best friend from Florida. The two ladies adventured together and ended up on a trail in the woods where Tim was waiting to propose. The first snow of the season had fallen and it gave the location a little extra glitter and magic. Brigitte's best friend is a talented photographer and she captured the moment for them. You can see their gorgeous proposal and engagements here by the lovely, LJ of South and Emory.
Brigitte said yes, of course. The two lovebirds decided to have their wedding in Summit County, CO, where they met. They both took time to get ready with their best friends on Peak 7 in Breckenridge and then traveled to Agape Outpost for their ceremony. As Brigitte walked down the path with her father, Tim began to tear up. Covering his mouth with his hand he watched his beautiful bride walk towards him. I can't lie, tears were sliding down my face as well. And they didn't stop. Friends and family alike had prayed for these two, watched as their love grew, and none of them could be more excited to witness their lives intertwine. Dry eyes became scarce. I hope you enjoy catching a small glimpse of the huge love these two share and maybe walk away with a glimmer in your own eye. Don't forget to scroll to the bottom to check out their reception at The Silverthorne Pavilion and their lit after wedding dance party! Their live music Wash Park Band was so fun and they really got the dance floor rocking! I mean, Brigitte’s father and uncle were lying on their backs rolling around on the dance floor. It just doesn't get much better than that.
